Senior Operations Manager - Retail Destination

South Yorkshire

Hexagon Group is delighted to be working with a prestigious real estate company that boasts an impressive portfolio of retail destinations and mixed-use estates under its management. Our client has approached us to help them secure a Senior Operations Manager for a large retail destination in South Yorkshire, which prioritises operational excellence, seamless day-to-day management, and a safe, well-maintained environment for occupiers and visitors alike, while keeping the local community at the heart of its operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the operational management of the retail destination, ensuring high standards of security, maintenance, and cleanliness.
  • Oversee contracted service providers and drive performance in line with SLAs and KPIs.
  • Manage health & safety compliance, risk assessments, and emergency response planning.
  • Control service charge budgets, ensuring cost efficiencies while maintaining service quality.
  • Develop strong relationships with occupiers, landlords, contractors, and local authorities.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction and energy efficiency.
  • Lead crisis management and business continuity planning.
  • Foster a high-performing team, ensuring training, development, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team in planning and executing on-site events to enhance the visitor experience

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in managing retail, leisure, or commercial property operations, with a strong grasp of facilities management, compliance, and financial oversight. A background in contract management, health & safety, and stakeholder engagement is essential.

It is preferential that you hold a NEBOSH and IOSH certification, along with an IWFM Certificate, although this is not essential.
