Purchasing Assistant| Doncaster, South Yorkshire | £16.37 per hour | Temporary to Permanent

Opportunity:

Ford & Stanley Interim is partnered with a leading provider of maintenance, overhaul, and refurbishment services for railway rolling stock. This business specialises in heavy maintenance, component refurbishment, and modernisation, ensuring reliability and extending asset life across both freight and passenger operators.

To continue engineering excellence, they are looking to add an Expeditor to the ranks who will be responsible for minimising stock shortages and driving efficiency through a business unit that is critical to the organisation’s success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage procurement activities, ensuring swift and effective problem resolution.
  • Utilise MRP systems effectively, responding to push out/pull in signals and stock requirements.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the business receives a high level of service.
  • Demonstrate a tenacious, problem-solving mindset to minimise stock shortages and drive efficiency.

Candidate Essentials:

  • A strong understanding of procurement principles and processes.
  • Experience working with MRP systems, including interpreting push out/pull in messages and managing stock levels effectively.
  • Comfortable using ERP/MRP systems and other business-related software.
  • Able to identify issues quickly and implement swift, effective solutions.
  • Used to working in fast-paced environments with competing priorities.
