About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Maths Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in the DN14 area. This is a full-time, permanent role with an immediate start. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the mathematics department, ensuring high-quality teaching, and delivering outstanding results across KS3 and KS4. You will play a key role in shaping the school's maths curriculum and fostering a love for mathematics in students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the mathematics department, overseeing curriculum planning and delivery.
  • Teach engaging and challenging Maths lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, ensuring excellent progress and attainment.
  • Monitor and support the professional development of other teachers within the department.
  • Implement strategies to raise achievement levels and promote a culture of academic excellence.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and share best practices.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents, students, and staff.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant teaching qualifications.
  • Proven experience as a Maths teacher, ideally in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of the Maths curriculum and experience teaching KS3 and KS4.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire both students and colleagues.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
