We are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team, working in special needs schools This role is crucial in supporting students with a range of special educational needs including learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), sensory, speech and language impairments, and behavioural difficulties. It is both a physically and emotionally rewarding position.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Preparing and adapting learning materials according to the individual needs of students.
  • Providing one-to-one or small group support to enhance students' learning experiences and inclusion in classroom activities.
  • Assisting in the implementation and monitoring of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) for students.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure coordinated support and implementation of the EHCP.
  • Working with speech and language therapists and maintaining accurate records of childrenā€™s development.
  • Managing behaviour in the classroom to ensure a conducive learning environment.
  • Ensuring the physical, social, and emotional welfare of students, creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in working with children with special educational needs is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with learning disabilities, ASD, ADHD, and other special needs.
  • Ability to adapt teaching materials and methods to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Commitment to professional development and willingness to engage in further training and development.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
