Location: Balby, Doncaster, DN4
Pay: Up to £16.85 per hour (dependent on experience, PAYE)
Hours: 37.5 hours paid per week (Mon-Fri 08:00–16:00)
Start Date: Immediate (subject to a successful weld test)
Role Type: Ongoing Temporary (with opportunity for permanent contract after 12 weeks)

Are you an experienced Welder looking for a new opportunity? We are seeking a skilled Welder to join a well-established company that specialises in the manufacture, hire, repair, and supply of lifting, pulling, and materials handling equipment across various industries, including construction, railway, mining, petrochemical, and steel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding and fabrication on a wide range of materials, including steel and other metals, to produce high-quality lifting and materials handling equipment.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure precise and accurate welding.
  • Carry out welding tasks for bespoke and custom lifting solutions, ensuring all components meet strict industry standards.
  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of lifting and materials handling equipment, including hoists, chains, and related components.
  • Perform welding for load testing frames, structures, and equipment as part of the company's proof load testing service.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment, following all health and safety regulations.
  • Work closely with other team members to meet project deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Welder, ideally with experience in fabrication and working with heavy-duty lifting equipment.
  • Proficient in MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of welding safety procedures and practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in the lifting, materials handling, or manufacturing industries is a plus.
  • Welding certifications (e.g., CSCS, welding qualification) would be advantageous.
