Our client is a well-established, successful accountancy practice based in Dorset. They offer a wide range of services to personal and business clients.

This role is a perfect opportunity for someone looking to manage a small accountancy practice over time as the Principal takes a step towards retirement. The role could be taken on a part time basis initially as there is no immediate urgency.

They are looking for an enthusiastic and diligent Senior Practice Accountant, someone who has enjoyed an accountancy practice career to date and will thrive off working in a small, trusting team delivering a range of services to a varied and rewarding client portfolio.

Most importantly they are looking for a good cultural alignment with a keenest to learn and take on additional responsibilities over time. A love of dogs is essential as this is a dog friendly office!

Senior Practice Accountant - The Role

This is an exciting role for a qualified Practice Accountant who would enjoy the benefits and flexibilities of working in a small, friendly, highly motivated team environment.

As Senior Practice Accountantthe role will include:

  • Preparation of accounts and corresponding tax returns for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies;

  • The use and interpretation of accounts to add value for clients;

  • Assisting with ad hoc commercial, financial and tax advisory projects;

  • Preparation and use of budgets, cashflows and management accounts;

  • Provision of software support to clients;

  • Maintaining technical knowledge in all relevant areas.

The Successful Applicant

You will be a motivated and friendly accountant with experience of working in a similar role and the ambition to manage the practice over time.

Requirements for Senior Practice Accountant include:

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA or ACA);

  • A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience;

  • Cloud based accounting experience desirable;

  • An inquiring analytical mind and ability to work under own initiative;

  • Confidence to communicate effectively with clients and the team;

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
