About the Role

As a Technical Support Officer within the Transfers & Disposals Team, you will play a key part in supporting the efficient and effective delivery of Dorset Council's property transfer and disposal programmes. Your role will involve document updates, query responses, financial processes, and coordination tasks that facilitate the smooth operation of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the council's transfer and disposal programmes
  • Assist with options appraisals for community and surplus properties, informed by feasibility and viability analyses
  • Contribute to business cases for sustainable property solutions aligned with council priorities
  • Ensure property transfers and disposals are delivered efficiently and according to process
  • Update documents including Heads of Terms and procurement papers
  • Respond to queries from developers and agents
  • Monitor the Community Asset Transfer inbox
  • Maintain trackers and action logs
  • Provide administrative support for meetings
  • Update the property database and triage enquiries
  • Coordinate information flow with consultants and other departments
  • Prepare reports as required
  • Handle financial processes including raising orders and processing invoices
  • Support general operations of the Transfers & Disposals Team

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience within an estates or property-related team
  • Ability to work at pace and under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Willingness and ability to work on-site at Dorset Council Offices at least two days per week
