We are looking to recruit a Team Manager for the Fostering Team within the Social Care Industry. Our client has a well-structured and organised team that are looking to grow their staffing levels. The role offers flexible working hours and has a supportive team culture with regular supervision on cases. Dorset is embedding a systemic approach and is currently undergoing a number of changes focussed on reducing caseloads and improving outcomes for families. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and supportive team within Dorset Council Main duties include:

  • Lead and manage a team of social workers and professionals.
  • Provide safeguarding advice and guidance.
  • Oversee statutory social work services for children, young people, and families.
  • Step in for the Operational Manager when needed.
  • Ensure effective performance management and staff training.
  • Manage budgets efficiently.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies to improve outcomes.
  • Conduct reflective supervision and manage staff performance.
  • Handle complaints and commendations.
  • Manage social work caseloads to ensure timely service delivery.
  • Attend court proceedings and relevant meetings.
  • Conduct case audits and ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Implement lessons from serious case reviews to enhance practices.

Minimum Requirements:

  • SWE Registration
  • 1-5 years post qualifying experience within the UK Social Care industry
