Social Worker (Level 3) – Children’s ServicesLocation: Dorchester (Hybrid)Contract: TemporarySalary: Up to £41 UMBMyn is recruiting on behalf of our long-term partner for an experienced Level 3 Social Worker to join the Children’s Services team in Dorchester. This role is vital for ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people by delivering statutory services under the Children Act 1989 and other relevant legislation.What You’ll Do:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children’s needs and develop effective care plans.
  • Manage complex cases involving Child in Need, Child Protection, and Children in Care.
  • Prepare detailed reports for court and various multi-agency meetings, and present evidence in legal proceedings when required.
  • Safeguard the welfare of children by implementing intervention methods and supporting families to become more self-reliant.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of professionals, including health, education, and social care providers, to ensure a holistic approach to child welfare.
  • Maintain accurate case records, input data into the core system, and provide documentation for statistical purposes.
  • Mentor and support less experienced social workers as they progress through their career, acting as a knowledge resource within the team.
What We’re Looking For:
  • A Social Work Degree (or equivalent) and Social Work England registration.
  • Significant post-qualification experience as a Level 2 Social Worker, with the ability to manage complex cases and court proceedings.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant statutory legislation, including Child Protection Procedures and permanency planning.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to deliver clear and concise advice on complex cases.
  • Experience of collaborative work with multi-agency teams, ensuring joint contribution and effective service delivery.
  • A valid driving licence with access to a car for work-related travel.
