Trainee Policy Operations Technician

Salary: £21850 + A performance review after 3 months probation, then a salary rise of up to 5% will be awarded every 4 months for the duration of the milestone training period (2 years). The salary rise is performance related. This is a great opportunity for someone who has recently finished A-levels or University or equivalent looking to kick start a career!

Hours: 9 - 5 (Mon to Fri).

Office based during training period, then optional hybrid (2 out of 5 WFH).

Job Purpose:

Working as part of a team to deliver high quality customer services to customers and other relevant third parties. To learn and handle all Administration relating to an insurance policy. Including:

  • Quotations
  • Policies
  • Queries
  • New Business
  • Mid-Term Adjustments
  • Renewals
  • Cancellations
  • Lapses
  • Investigate data discrepancies
  • Raising validation requests
  • Handle queries from other departments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop motor insurance and product knowledge
  • Efficiently manage daily work flow in line with targets
  • Provide excellent customer service via emails, live chats and telephone
  • Dealing with incoming and outgoing calls
  • Working flexibly within the team, assisting colleagues where necessary
  • Respond to and take ownership of enquiries from customer, intermediaries and third party administrators
  • Contacting Brokers with validation and various policy queries

Skills, knowledge and Experience:

  • Previous office and customer service experience is desirable but not essential
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills
  • Comfortable speaking with customers over the phone and other third parties
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and manage own workload
  • Good attention to detail and ability to accurately record information
  • Team player
  • Driven by self-development
