GSL Education are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN/SEMH Teacher to join a supportive school in Dover. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

About the Role:

As an SEN/SEMH Teacher, you will play a key role in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported and valued. Your lessons will be tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, using creative and engaging teaching methods to inspire their growth both academically and personally.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver personalised lessons to meet the needs of students with SEN/SEMH.
  • Create a positive and structured classroom environment that encourages learning and personal development.
  • Differentiate teaching strategies to support students with a range of abilities and needs.
  • Provide emotional and behavioural support, fostering resilience and confidence.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff to ensure student progress.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies to support students’ educational and personal development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback to school staff.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with students with SEN, SEMH, Autism, or behavioural needs.
  • A strong commitment to inclusive education and supporting students with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • The ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning styles.
  • A current CV covering the last 10 years with no unexplained gaps.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
