Cover Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Teaching Assistant (TA) or Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team as a Cover Supervisor. This role involves providing cover across both Primary and Secondary phases of the school. The ideal candidate will be flexible, able to adapt to the changing needs of the school at short notice, and committed to our vision.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide classroom cover for absent staff across Primary and Secondary phases.
  • Deliver lessons at short notice, ensuring continuity of education.
  • Direct and support other Teaching Assistants within the classroom.
  • Utilise IT skills to enhance learning experiences.
  • Adapt quickly to the varying needs of students and the school environment.
  • Maintain a positive and resilient attitude, with a good sense of humour and physical fitness to manage daily tasks effectively.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum GCSE grade C or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
  • Experience as a TA or HLTA, particularly in environments with children or adults displaying challenging behaviours.
  • Understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment systems is desirable.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about Restorative Approaches and Team Teach (training provided).
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Ability to work independently and show initiative.
  • Emotional resilience and physical fitness are essential.
