Due to business growth, we currently have a new opportunity for an Assistant Manager to join our Private Client Tax team. With a competitive salary, flexible and hybrid working, and a broad benefits package, this role is an integral part of the Private Client Tax function.

As Private Client Tax Assistant Manager, you will provide personal and trust tax compliance and associated advisory services to a variety of clients. You will also work closely with the Senior Managers, Directors and Partners, providing assistance for both compliance and advisory client work.

About the role:

  • Act as the main contact for clients, ensuring they have the information they need and their files are in order.
  • Handle the preparation of complex personal tax returns and associated claims.
  • Review simple tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist senior team members with managing client portfolios when needed.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members.
  • Attend client meetings to discuss their tax situation and provide updates.
  • Deal with HM Revenue and Customs on behalf of clients.
  • Manage a small group of clients and maintain relationships.
  • Provide guidance on day-to-day tax queries and assist with tax planning.
  • Offer assistance to colleagues in other departments when needed.
  • Ensure work is completed on time and billing is handled efficiently.
  • Encourage a culture of equality and diversity within the workplace.

About you:

  • ATT/ CTA qualification, or a similar professional qualification (QBE candidates may also be considered)
  • Significant exposure to personal and private client tax in a specialist or mixed role
  • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written.
  • Experience of working in a client-facing role
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to prioritise own workload and work to deadlines
  • A passion for providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to innovate and share ideas
  • Demonstrate accuracy in technical work delivered
