Our client, a leading consultancy in the rail sector, is currently seeking an Associate - Urban Metro/Rail to join their team in Ireland. This is a permanent position situated in Dublin with the flexibility of hybrid working.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting cost-benefit appraisals (CBA) and developing business cases for rail and transport improvement projects
  • Applying expertise in the Irish Department of Transport's Transport Appraisal Framework (TAF)
  • Leading and delivering high-quality strategy and business case projects, collaborating with teams in Ireland and the UK
  • Supporting the development and growth of key markets in Ireland by working with clients like Irish Rail and the National Transport Authority
  • Interacting with clients to agree on project scopes, timelines, and deliverables
  • Contributing to successful tender processes to secure future work


Job Requirements:

  • Relevant degree in economics, mathematics, transport economics, or a related field
  • Expertise in railway and transport planning and economics
  • Proven experience using and applying the Irish Department of Transport's TAF
  • Strong track record of delivering high-quality project outcomes
  • Ability to contribute to and secure successful tenders
  • Advanced numerical and analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of rail operations principles and early-stage rail enhancement project engineering
  • Experience in team leadership and line management
  • Membership in a relevant professional institution (desirable)
