Academic Coaches will motivate students and help them build confidence. We are seeking someone who can form positive relationships with students and encourage participation in classes.

As a Cover Supervisor, your main responsibility will be to ensuring that learning continues in the absence of the normal staff member by delivering pre-planned lessons and managing student behaviour in line with the schools policies. If you are looking to potentially move into teaching then this is the ideal opportunity for you to gain valuable experience in education before committing to a full-time teaching role.

We have both full-time and part-time positions available so this role is ideal for those looking to work full time or those who are looking to gain experience while continuing to be able to continue to commit to other current responsibilities

To qualify for this position, you must be currently a second year or above student at a UK University or recently have graduated. Ideally you should also have at least 5 days of experience working with children or young people but more importantly is a strong desire to work with young people and make a difference to their lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage classroom activities in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Ensure students remain focused and complete the work that has been set
  • Maintain good classroom behaviour and discipline
  • Foster a positive and productive learning environment
  • Support students with their work by answering any questions they may have during lessons
  • Work alongside school staff and adhere to the institution’s policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • A minimum of working towards a bachelor's degree in any subject. 
  • Prior experience working with young people
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with students of varying ages
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential
  • Flexible, self-motivated, and team-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong relationship-building abilities with students
  • Capability to deliver well-structured support lessons to groups of students
