Advanced Recruit are recruting for aleading sheet metal and fabrication company specialising in laser cutting, welding, fabrication, and press brake operations.
Position Overview:
The Production Managerwill oversee the day-to-day operations of the production floor, ensuring that all processes are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sheet metal fabrication, including experience with laser cutting, welding, and press brake machinery. This role requires excellent leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the production team, including machine operators, welders, and fabricators.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust workflow to meet deadlines and production targets.
- Ensure all products meet quality standards by performing regular inspections and coordinating with the quality assurance team.
- Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of laser cutting machines, welding equipment, press brakes, and other fabrication tools.
- Implement and maintain health and safety standards on the production floor, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
- Train and mentor production staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager and other departments to optimize production processes, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, equipment maintenance, and personnel performance.
- Participate in daily production meetings and contribute to planning and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Production Supervisor/Manager or similar role in a sheet metal and fabrication environment.
- Strong knowledge of laser cutting, press brake and fabrication operations.
- Familiarity with CNC programming and machine setup is an advantage.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing setting.
