Office Use: 0009 3773 / 1

This post available is for a Panel Adviser on a part time basis, three days a week: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The successful candidate must be onsite for 2 weeks initially for induction and then 1 day per week working from home after that.

The successful applicant must have strong experience in managing Panels and have a thorough understanding of the Fostering Services Regulations.

The priorities of the role are:

- A focus on QA of Panel papers to ensure the Foster Panel can proceed with the business and progress to ADM.

- Ensuring the Panel membership is compliant and that there is a stable membership group in order that the Panel can grow and develop together

- Putting in place a training plan for the Panel and the Fostering Service to undertake joint training

- Providing a weekly clinic for Fostering Staff to receive advice and support with writing and preparing reports

- Set up a fortnightly Panel Matters meeting with TM's from Fostering Service and Fostering Reviewing Officers to review ADM decisions/actions to follow up, look at themes and patterns.

  • DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
  • Social Work England registration
  • Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
  • Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups
  • Possess knowledge of service needs.
  • Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
  • Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
  • Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
