Children’s Services in Tameside are on an improvement journey and are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Team Manager to join us in one of our Duty and Assessment Teams.

This is an exciting time to join Tameside, and you will be part of a service that is highly committed, welcoming, and supportive. We are continuing to transform our approach to how we deliver services to support children and families having adopted a trauma informed strength and relationship based approach as our practice framework.

As a Team Manager you will offer a high level of support and challenge to your social workers and inspire your teams to do their very best for Tameside children.

You will be responsible for a team providing assessment, planning and intervention services to children in need of a statutory assessment.

With fantastic leadership skills and attributes, you will ensure your team members are well supported and equipped to succeed.

We firmly believe that all children in Tameside deserve the best start in life, and we are looking for the right people to help make this happen.

About you:

We expect you to have extensive frontline experience as well as a solid track record of managing and developing a team. Building positive relationships is important not just with the children, young people and families we work with but also with colleagues and external partner agencies.

We are looking for social work professional with considerable experience of working with children and their families in a statutory social care environment, specifically managing and supporting social workers and ASYEs, and a wealth of experience supervising complex caseloads on a busy team.
