The Client

Our client is a world leading manufacturer of self-adhesive label application systems. Their UK site is responsible for the design and manufacture of high specification, high quality labelling equipment and has a range of standard and customised bespoke purpose machinery. They sell to a wide customer base from sole traders to blue chips in the Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Healthcare, Toiletry, Cosmetics industries to name a few. They are now in need of an experienced area sales manager to help manage the South West region.

The Role

The primary responsibilities of this role include overseeing all sales activities within the designated territory from initial customer enquiry through the quotation phase and up to the final point of sale. The ideal candidate will report directly to the Sales Manager, playing an essential role in facilitating and supporting the entire sales process. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and build a pipeline of sustainable business and working relationships
  • Plan sales activities and customer/prospect visits profitably within the business framework
  • Perform product demonstrations using technical knowledge and experience
  • Delivery of CPD Presentations
  • Cross sell the full range of company products when appropriate.
  • Liaise closely with internal sales and colleagues in other departments.
  • Seek out, understand and report to the management team any industry trends and movements.
  • Ensure CRM and Pipeline management tools are used and updated.

The Person

  • Experience working in a territory sales role selling similar products
  • Experience of performing technical product demos
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
