Day-to-day of the role:
  • Install, test, and maintain electrical systems in compliance with ATEX standards and UK regulations.
  • Perform detailed inspections and audits of electrical installations in hazardous areas to ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in electrical systems and equipment.
  • Provide technical advice and support on ATEX compliance and electrical safety.
  • Prepare and maintain necessary documentation, including inspection reports and compliance certificates.
  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and safety officers to ensure all projects adhere to safety protocols.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Valid ATEX certification, such as Compex Ex07/08 or similar, with a strong understanding of ATEX directives and DSEAR.
  • Qualified Electrician with an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds Inspection & Testing 2391 or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working in hazardous areas, particularly within the oil and gas or chemical sectors.
  • Deep knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and safety standards related to explosive atmospheres.
