Assistant Financial Director

Venn Group are currently working with a University in the South West, who are seeking an Assistant Finance Director to ensure that income is accurately and completely posted to the company’s finance department.

Main duties of the job:

  • Oversee budgeting, financial reporting (FRS102), and statutory requirements, including HESA and TRAC returns
  • Lead student number planning, ensuring alignment with strategy and resource planning
  • Manage the finance team supporting Colleges, Professional Services, and external funders (ESFA, OfS) with robust financial information
  • Deputise for the Finance Director and oversee finance business partnering, including academic workload support

Essential Skills:

  • Full and current membership of a professional accountancy body
  • Experience of leading change with ability to navigate through complexity and foster advocacy through a shared vision, meaningful engagement and effective capability building
  • Experience of financial and workforce planning, including budgeting, forecasting and the management of resources, including creating the right workforce to deliver the desired organisational priorities
