We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Director to join our clients dynamic team at a leading university. In this key role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the future of the institution, contributing to their strategic goals and ensuring the success of their students and staff.

About the Role:

As part of a senior leadership team, you will:

  • Lead and inspire: Drive operational excellence within your designated service area by leading high-performing teams, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment, and empowering staff to achieve their full potential.
  • Strategic impact: Contribute to the University's strategic direction by ensuring alignment and the achievement of key performance objectives. You will work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic plans that support the University's mission and vision.
  • Data-driven decisions: Utilise data and insights to inform decision-making, optimise resource allocation, and enhance service delivery. You will use data to identify trends, measure performance, and make evidence-based decisions that improve outcomes.
  • Champion inclusively: Promote and embed the University's commitment to anti-racism and creating equitable environments for all. You will lead by example and create a culture where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
  • Build relationships: Collaborate with stakeholders across the University, industry, and the wider community to build strong partnerships and advance the University's goals. You will develop and maintain positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors, and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership and Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for your service area, aligning with the University's overall goals. Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed.
  • Operational Management and Performance Improvement: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. Identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to enhance performance.
  • Financial Management and Resource Allocation: Develop and manage budgets, allocate resources effectively, and monitor financial performance.
  • People Leadership and Development: Recruit, develop, and retain talented staff. Create a positive and inclusive work environment that fosters employee engagement and growth.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and external partners. Collaborate effectively to achieve shared goals.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, build consensus, and achieve results. Experience in a higher education or relevant sector is preferred.
