R2R (Record to Report) and Finance Lead

Robert Half are partnering with a large multi-national business based on the outskirts of Bristol to recruit a newly created R2R and Finance Lead.

The organisation has recently outsourced a large proportion of their finance processes and are going through an exciting period of significant change. Therefore, they are looking for a strong senior finance leader with experience of dealing with/managing outsourced accounting operations within a global environment.

The Role

This role will oversee the full spectrum of outsourced R2R activities from a performance (KPI's), efficiency and accuracy perspective. In addition to this you will lead and mentor five GBS Regional Accounting Leads and work closely with the R2R Global Process Owner on continuous improvement and finance transformation.

Key Duties:

  • Oversee RTR operations, ensuring performance, efficiency, and accuracy across multiple regions.
  • Develop and implement global GBS RTR strategy with RTR Global Process Owner support.
  • Lead and mentor GBS Regional Accounting Leads to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Maintain accurate cost reporting for GBS with Contracts Manager and report to GBS Management.
  • Build strong relationships with regional CFOs, Group Finance, and BPO management for seamless reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with global policies, regulations, and reporting requirements across regions.
  • Drive process improvements for balance sheet reporting efficiency and scalability.
  • Stay updated on IFRS/GAAP legislation, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, IT) to streamline month-end close and data integration.
  • Develop and track KPIs and metrics for month-end reporting and SLA performance.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, tax authorities, and stakeholders for audits and compliance.
  • Provide strategic guidance on balance sheet management matters.

Your Profile

  • Extensive experience within a leadership role in a global finance environment
  • Experienced in dealing with and managing outsourced accounting operations with service providers
  • Proven track record of effective leadership and a strong behavioural profile in a complex RTR function, including working with external partners and leading change.
  • Extensive knowledge across the full RTR process, including but not limited to month end close, tax, treasury, commercial finance and group reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of global finance reporting, regulations and compliance requirements across multiple countries and regions.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to drive process improvements and optimise RTR operations.
