Locum Generalist Lawyer – East Midlands – £55 per hour Umbrella –Part Time – Hybrid Working

Venn Group’s legal team is recruiting for a Locum Generalist Lawyer to join a friendly East Midlands Local Authority on a part-time, initial three-month basis. The role offers up to £55 per hour Umbrella, with up to 20 hours per week, and requires office attendance at least once per fortnight or in line with work demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and representation across local government law, including contracts, planning, housing, property, and governance.
  • Support the Council in maintaining Lexcel accreditation by keeping case management systems up-to-date, completing monthly file reviews, and promptly opening files.
  • Ensure legal compliance in Council decision-making and represent the Council in tribunals, hearings, and committees.
  • Assist with income generation by advising external clients.
