Senior Development Leader

Bristol

Salary: Negotiable (DOE) + Private medical

Certain Advantage are working with a global Engineering and Technical services firm to hire a Senior Development Leader to be based out of their Bristol offices.

The Opportunity:

Our client is engaged in critical projects within the Nuclear Power sector across the UK and Europe, including new build and innovative technology developments. Be part of a groundbreaking new nuclear power project, the first of its kind in the UK in over 20 years. This project's reactors will generate secure, low-carbon electricity for decades, powering millions of homes and creating thousands of jobs, while significantly contributing to the UK economy.

Role Overview:

As a Supplier Development Leader, you will play a key role in enhancing supply chain quality performance for this and other major projects. You'll develop and implement supplier quality improvement plans, driving lasting improvements in this critical sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead structured problem resolution activities with key strategic suppliers.
  • Train and coach suppliers on structured problem resolution methodology.
  • Facilitate Supplier Quality Improvement workshops.
  • Build relationships with supplier leadership teams to influence improvement activities and promote continuous improvement.
  • Collect and analyze data on supplier performance to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Share learnings and best practices across the supply chain.
  • Review supplier development requests and create a Supplier Quality Delivery Charter outlining the problem, methodology, scope, resources, and milestones.
  • Deliver quality improvement activities within agreed timescales and budget.
  • Conduct effectiveness reviews to confirm improvements and recommend further actions.

Requirements:

  • Leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs).
  • Proven track record in delivering supplier development projects in a manufacturing operational environment.
  • Qualification in an Engineering discipline (Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in interacting and resolving issues with a wide range of stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong Continuous Improvement mindset with expertise in techniques such as 8D, PDCA, root cause analysis (RCA), Kaizen, and process mapping.
  • Ability to influence and provide constructive challenges that are accepted by others.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to support and implement practical solutions while remaining open to others' ideas.
