As a Mentor, you will:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored mentoring sessions to suit the needs of particular children.
  • Base activities around what individuals enjoy and what they are interested in, so that they are positively engaging with a trusted, professional adult. Activities can include: baking, art projects, going out into the community safely, going for walks, finding a park they like, museum/ history trips, science projects etc. Mentoring may assist with SEMH needs or have a general goal of getting the child to engage positively/ feel more positively about their education.
  • Record student progress and report on this weekly.
  • Be understanding, empathetic and patient.
  • Record attendance.

* HLTA

* ELSA

* SEN Teacher

* Primary school Teacher

* Secondary school Teacher

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
