About the Role:

Our client, a leading organisation in the public sector, is seeking an experienced Interim Accountant to support their Accounting Team during a vacancy period. This role is crucial for budget monitoring and reporting, ensuring the smooth financial operation of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support budget monitoring and reporting activities.
  • Maintain ledgers and perform balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Provide financial advice and support to budget holders.
  • Develop and maintain advanced Excel spreadsheets.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all financial tasks.
  • Work independently, managing time and prioritising tasks to meet tight deadlines.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or part professional accountancy qualification (e.g., CIPFA, CA, ACCA, ACMA).
  • Experience in budget monitoring and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and manage multiple priorities.
