Job Title: Interim Accountant
Location: Dundee (with flexible and remote working options)
Job Type: Full Time contract for 3 months (with potential extension)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 (flexible working hours available)
About the Role:
Our client, a leading organisation in the public sector, is seeking an experienced Interim Accountant to support their Accounting Team during a vacancy period. This role is crucial for budget monitoring and reporting, ensuring the smooth financial operation of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support budget monitoring and reporting activities.
- Maintain ledgers and perform balance sheet reconciliations.
- Provide financial advice and support to budget holders.
- Develop and maintain advanced Excel spreadsheets.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers at all levels.
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all financial tasks.
- Work independently, managing time and prioritising tasks to meet tight deadlines.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or part professional accountancy qualification (e.g., CIPFA, CA, ACCA, ACMA).
- Experience in budget monitoring and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and manage multiple priorities.
