Area Sales Representative

Our client specialises in bespoke architectural glass for the commercial construction sector, delivering tailored solutions for main contractors and high-end fit-out companies. They handle complex projects, from single panels to large-scale installations, including back-lit, framed, sandblasted, and integrated glass features for demanding design requirements.

As an Area Sales Representative, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with Supply Only customers, increasing their purchase spend, and identifying new business opportunities. Additionally, you will manage the CRM system, schedule regular customer visits, and support the Estimating team in converting leads into active projects.

You will be required to travel frequently to areas such as London, Essex, Hertfordshire, Milton Keynes, Northampton, the Midlands, Reading, Horsham, and Guildford, with occasional visits to Bath, Crewe, Heathrow, Bournemouth, and Kent. You'll be required to attend the office at least once a week, with the rest of your time spent managing administrative tasks, follow-ups, and other related duties from home, etc.

Area Sales Representative

Position Overview:

  • Build and maintain relationships with Supply Only customers to increase purchase spend.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to assess their needs and improve service delivery.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, focusing on weekly delivery routes.
  • Provide technical support, including interpreting product specs and explaining functionality.
  • Keep the CRM system updated with real-time customer interaction details and follow-ups.
  • Conduct a minimum of 150 face-to-face visits every 6 weeks, ensuring each is tracked and followed up.
  • Assist the Estimating team in converting project leads into active jobs.
  • Attend the office at least once a week, with the remainder of your week spent on administrative follow-ups, setup calls, and other tasks from home.
  • Travel primarily to areas such as London, Essex, Hertfordshire, Milton Keynes, Northampton, the Midlands, Reading, Horsham, and Guildford. Occasional visits to Bath, Crewe, Heathrow, Bournemouth, and Kent will also be required.

Area Sales Representative

Position Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of sales experience in the UK, with proven account management and new sales generation skills.
  • Experience in B2B sales, ideally to industries such as glass, joinery, shop fit-out, or furniture workshops.
  • Technical mindset, with the ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and explain product assembly.
  • Ability to manage and maintain a CRM system, recording customer interactions in real time.
  • Self-motivated and goal-driven, with a strong focus on building long-term relationships.
  • Strong communication skills for both customer interaction and internal team collaboration.
  • Experience with sales targets, with a track record of achieving goals and following up on leads.
  • Must live within a 40-mile radius of Dunstable (LU5 5TA) and be able to attend the office weekly.
