Role Overview

Working as part of the Business Support team, the post holder will deliver high-quality, customer-focused administrative services to support Regeneration, Economy and Growth, and Neighbourhoods and Climate Change. The role involves working flexibly with colleagues, improving administrative systems, and promoting digital processes to enhance efficiency and reduce paper use.

Key Duties
  • Support and improve back-office processes, promoting electronic systems and lean practices.
  • Contribute to service development, including drafting procedures and standard documentation.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, handling enquiries and supporting front-line teams.
  • Assist with financial processes including invoice payments and cash receipting.
  • Rotate duties with team members to ensure continuous cover and support.
  • Liaise with corporate services to ensure cohesive working practices.
  • Manage scanning, electronic filing, and handling of post as required.
Person Specification

Essential:

  • 5 GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent.
  • Experience in an office environment and working within a team.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration.
  • Experience in local government or front-line service support.
  • Knowledge of electronic systems, Oracle, and payment processes.
  • Proactive approach to service improvement and system challenges.
