If so, HM Land Registry (HMLR) now have an exciting opportunity to join our Data and Register Integrity Directorate as a Business Continuity Advisor.In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a robust Business Continuity Management System to support the organisation’s needs, ensuring HMLR is prepared for and can recover from business continuity related incidents and events.Acting as the business continuity subject matter expert (SME), you will lead efforts to improve resilience and provide guidance, tools and SME advice to ensure preparedness for potential disruptions and recovery and be responsible for overseeing HMLR’s business continuity framework, ensuring it is adaptable, proportionate and aligned with organisational goals.Job description
  • As a Business Continuity Advisor, you will build and nurture strong stakeholder relationships, develop and communicate policies and help to develop maturity in HMLR’s preparedness and response to business continuity incidents.
  • You will support First Line staff in identifying and managing incidents and agreeing suitable business continuity posture and response to senior boards and committees, providing assurance on the effectiveness and maturity of HMLR’s strategic Business Continuity Management Programme.
  • By utilising your expert advice and constructively challenging senior staff and leaders in the First Line, you will improve their understanding of business continuity risks in their area. You will be responsible for equipping them with the knowledge and skills to prepare for, and recover from, business continuity incidents effectively and assisting them in the event of a crisis, incident or disaster recovery when required.
  • You will advise on gap analysis and improvements in business and service continuity, disaster recovery and create resilience by designing, building and delivering a robust contingency operation against requirements, policies, frameworks and best practices. You will also create confidence through scenarios, playbooks, test plans, simulations and resource planning by developing and/or supporting test exercises across the organisation.
  • Furthermore, you will continuously develop and maintain an appropriate business continuity management framework and an Incident Management Log.
Due to the nature of the role, there will be an occasional need to be able to accommodate working outside normal flexible working hours if an incident occurs, to ensure staff are receiving appropriate support at the appropriate time. Time off in lieu can be taken for such incidents. Occasional travel, including some overnight stays, will be required for meetings, projects or national work.For more information about the role, please see the attached Candidate Pack.Person specificationTo be successful in this role you must be an experienced and working professional in business continuity, resilience and incident management and have professional certification in business continuity (MBCI or similar).You will have proven experience in creating and/or the development of security or business continuity products and deliverables and in developing frameworks, policies, procedures, guidance and/or best practices in business continuity and incident response and management.As an excellent communicator at all levels, you will be experienced in building effective stakeholder relationships, creating trust, engaging, advising and influencing and leading in challenging and complex environments. Utilising your natural flair to form excellent relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, you will be able to confidently provide advice and constructively challenge others.You must be experienced in working within a changing environment, managing multiple priorities and collaborating and delivering through others to meet short and longer-term deadlines. With the ability to perform effectively to deadlines, you will be able to maintain focus in challenging situations and readily adapt to find suitable solutions to meet the needs of stakeholders.Where an individual taking up the responsibility will be based in Swansea Office, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable.QualificationsProfessional certification in business continuity (MBCI or similar).
