Grid Electrical Engineer Up to £65,000 DOE + package including car allowance and bonus.Durham Office- 4 days a week UK based developer of onshore wind, solar and storage backed by a key investor in the industry. For the last 20 years, this onshore renewable developer has been on a mission to support the transition to a net zero future. They have recently seen an influx of investment from a key investor in the renewable energy market which is seeing a great period of growth over the organisation for the coming years. They have strong company culture that is now being invested in heavily through their new investment partner. They pride themselves on their values, placing people at the heart of the organisation. Their mission is simple; to drive the use of world-class sustainable renewable developments. The group began over 20 years ago, and now have high targets of adding over 2GW of solar, energy storage and onshore wind to their pipeline by 2030. They have over 4GW of capacity currently across the whole of the UK and have strong plans to continue this growth. For now, they are developers, but their new investor has asset management and operation capabilities, allowing them to work further through the project lifecycle.This is a crucial role for the group, at the heart of a lot of their operations and growth plans for the coming years. You'll be an integral part of their technical and development division working closely with multiple stakeholders. The role:The key elements to this position surround the ability to manage and oversee grid connections options. As the group buys projects to develop but also sells projects onto EPC partners, your role will be varied. The key responsibilities can be summarised as:- Managing and overseeing grid applications including G99 applications. - Assessing new connection agreements viability for new projects. A large amount of this responsibility will be focused around estimating associated risks, time scales and costs surrounding these. - Securing grid applications and managing transactions around these.- Stakeholder engagement and management surrounding key players in the grid application process, but also through project sales and purchasing. Assessing viability of connection agreements.- Specifying technical equipment. This is a great opportunity, and we are open to reviewing profiles that are seeking a move into the utility scale sector from commercial and industrial spaces.
