Families First Team - Durham (Multiple Locations)
Up to £31 per hour depending on experience
The Families First team plays a vital role in supporting families and children who are facing challenges and need additional help to thrive. They are often the first point of contact for families seeking support or referred by other agencies. Their duties focus on early intervention, prevention, and building strong family relationships. Here's a breakdown of their key responsibilities:
- The team receives referrals from various sources, including families themselves, schools, healthcare providers, or other agencies.
- They conduct initial assessments to gather information about the family's circumstances.
- Based on the assessment, the team determines the level of support the family requires and decides on the appropriate course of action.
- The team works with families to develop a personalised support plan that outlines the goals, strategies, and interventions needed to address their challenges.
- The team works closely with the family and other professionals to implement the support plan, ensuring it is tailored to the family's needs and regularly reviewed to assess its effectiveness.
- They may provide direct support and activities for children, addressing their emotional and developmental needs.
- The team focuses on building on the family's strengths, recognising their positive qualities and resources to help them achieve their goals.
- The Families First team works closely with other agencies, such as the police, health services, schools, and social work teams, to ensure a coordinated response and share information effectively.
- They build strong relationships with families, providing ongoing support, guidance, and advocacy.
Requirements and experience:
- Social work Qualification
- SWE registrations
- Clear and enhanced DBS
