About Us:Randstad is excited to partner with the CLA (Children Looked After) Team in Durham to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Team Manager. In this role, you will support the management and oversight of the CLA team, ensuring high-quality care and support for children and young people in care.

Job Description:As the Assistant Team Manager in the CLA Team, you will be responsible for supporting the team manager in overseeing social workers, guiding case management, and ensuring that children in care receive the services and protection they need. This role involves leadership, supervision, and direct engagement with multi-disciplinary professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Team Manager in managing a team of social workers, providing supervision, guidance, and support to ensure high standards of practice.
  • Oversee the care planning and case management for children looked after, ensuring their safety, well-being, and developmental needs are met.
  • Monitor the progress of cases, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and adherence to safeguarding policies.
  • Provide leadership in court work, supporting social workers in the preparation of reports and attendance at court hearings.
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies, foster carers, and other professionals to provide holistic support for children and families.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role, particularly within a CLA or similar team.
  • In-depth knowledge of children's social care legislation, safeguarding procedures, and court processes.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and maintain high standards of practice.
