Children's Social Worker - Fostering Team (Supporting and Supervising Foster Carers)We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Social Worker to join our Fostering Team. You will play a crucial role in supporting and supervising foster carers, ensuring the well-being and positive outcomes of children in their care.Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with potential foster carers, conducting thorough assessments to ensure their suitability and ability to provide a loving and safe home for children in need.
  • Provide regular supervision to foster carers, offering support, guidance, and training to help them meet the needs of the children in their care.
  • Manage a caseload of foster families, ensuring children's needs are met, and their well-being is paramount.
  • Collaborate with foster carers, children, and other professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans that address the specific needs and aspirations of each child.
  • Champion the best interests of children in care, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are protected.
  • Facilitate positive relationships between foster families and birth families, promoting contact and communication where appropriate.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and actively participate in initiatives to enhance the team's knowledge and practice in supporting foster families.

We are looking for social workers with a deep understanding of the needs of foster children, proven experience working with foster families, and a genuine commitment to fostering positive relationships and outcomes.Essential Requirements:

  • Must hold a relevant Social Work qualification (e.g. DipSW, BSc, MA) and be registered with Social Care England.
  • Proven experience working with foster carers and children in care, demonstrating a strong understanding of the dynamics of foster care.
  • Ability to conduct thorough assessments, identify needs, and develop effective care plans.
