Children's Social Worker - Looked After Children TeamWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Social Worker to join our dynamic Looked After Children Team. In this role, you will play a vital part in the lives of children in our care, promoting their safety, happiness, and development as they navigate the challenges of being looked after.Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children in care, providing ongoing support and guidance as they transition through different placements and stages of their lives.
  • Work collaboratively with children, foster carers, adoptive parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans that address their specific needs and aspirations.
  • Offer practical and emotional support to children in care, building positive relationships and fostering a sense of trust and security.
  • Champion the best interests of children, ensuring their voices are heard, their rights are protected, and they have access to appropriate services and resources.
  • Prepare reports and attend court hearings related to care proceedings, advocating for the best interests of children.
  • Work closely with foster carers, adoptive parents, school staff, health services, and other agencies to ensure a coordinated response to children needs.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and actively participate in initiatives to enhance the team's knowledge and practice in supporting looked-after children.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker: Must hold a relevant Social Work qualification (e.g. DipSW, BSc, MA) and be registered with Social Care England.
  • DBS: On update service
