About the Role:

Randstad is recruiting for Social Workers and Senior Practitioners to join the Families First Team, covering several areas across Durham, including Shildon & Chilton, Spennymoor, Ferryhill, and Consett.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with children, young people, and families, helping to provide early intervention and tailored support to prevent the escalation of complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of children and families, identifying their strengths and needs, and developing outcome-focused intervention plans.
  • Provide targeted support to families in need, focusing on early intervention to prevent family breakdown and promote stability.
  • As a Senior Practitioner, you will provide supervision, guidance, and support to less experienced social workers, ensuring effective case management and the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including schools, health services, and other local authority departments, to ensure a coordinated approach to meeting the needs of families.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, case reviews, and training sessions to support ongoing professional development.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with valid Social Work England registration.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act and safeguarding practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with families and professionals.
  • For Senior Practitioners, previous experience in supervising staff and managing complex cases is essential.
