The SchoolA welcoming and inclusive primary school in Gloucestershire with a dedicated resource base. The resource base is staffed by a lead teacher and a team of specially trained teaching assistants, ensuring a low pupil-to-adult ratio to meet the individual needs of each child.

The RoleAs an HLTA in the resource base, you will play a key role in supporting students to achieve their individual developmental targets. This will include one-to-one work as well as supporting small groups of students. You will assist with planning and resourcing activities and occasionally lead whole-class sessions when required. This role offers an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with Autism while working as part of a supportive and dedicated team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively under the guidance of the lead teacher.
  • Provide targeted support to students with Autism, helping them progress towards their individual goals.
  • Assist in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging resources and activities.
  • Lead whole-class sessions when requested.

Essential Criteria/Skills

  • HLTA qualification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Previous experience working with children with Autism.

Desirable Criteria

  • Access to a car and a valid driving license.
  • Experience working in a specialist setting.

Vetting: Five Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all the staff we employ to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be required to undergo checks including reference checks and TRA checks. Applicants who do not have a non-voluntary enhanced DBS on the update service, will need to process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work and the DBS has been registered on the update service.
