A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Project Support Officer to join the team with our prestigious client on the Isle of Wight

The Engineering Project Support Officer for this new Defence development project will support the Programme Manager and Engineering Leaders to develop the initial project schedule, scope, technology content and then assist the Integrated Project Team to plan and deliver the project. As Engineering Project Support Officer you will be part of the multidisciplinary programme team and working together with other team members like Commercial Officers, Design and Manufacturing Engineers, Technologists etc. Your primary role is the execution of activities associated with schedule, planning and project management, progress reporting, monitoring and control. You will have frequent contact with engineering and production departments internally as well as within our customer. The project will operate from our facilities in Bristol and the Isle of Wight.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the project technical schedules and planning.
  • Analyse requested customer schedule changes for impact to our business activities and advise mitigations/options.
  • Administrate customer project portals.
  • Report on a pre-defined set of KPI's and take measures in case of deviations.
  • Control and monitor on progress, scope, costs, resource management for the project.
  • Support the Programme Manager and Engineering Leadership team in reporting and Risk & Opportunity management.
  • Initiate continuous improvement actions based on analytics.
  • Assist with standardising and optimising ways of working.
  • Other related duties as required.

Essential:

  • Demonstrable experience of the ability to create, manage and execute a project plan.
  • A high level of accuracy in performing your work.
  • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Power Point).
  • Experience within an engineering or production company.


Desirable:

  • Engineering or technical degree at Bachelors level.
  • Experience with working in ERP/PLM systems (e.g. BaaN, SAP, Windchill, Teamcentre).
  • Either completed or registered for acknowledged Programme Management Certification.
  • Experience within Aerospace manufacturing.
