Reed Secure are working with Police Forces who are looking to recruit Scientific Services Administrative Assistant to interrogate policing databases to respond to enquiries from customers and stakeholders. To carry out searches, review and compare information and prepare disclosure documentation for the prevention of crime and to support the criminal justice system.

  • Hourly rate - £11.98 PAYE
  • Location – Southampton (Central)
  • Hours – 37h a week (Monday to Friday) - Fully Office based
  • Length of Assignment – 5-6 Months

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Deal with correspondence and process telephone calls in a professional and timely manner
  • Liaise with and provide guidance to internal and external individuals, departments, agencies and companies
  • Accurately input and update information onto various databases within the unit.
  • Interrogate the different databases to deal with queries
  • To generate standard and non-standard documents
  • Carry out general administrative duties including dealing with incoming and outgoing post
  • Adhere to Service Level Agreements within the Summary Justice Unit
  • To provide cover to other sections as directed by the Summary Justice Team Leader
  • To give regular and effective service.

Experience and SkillsEssential:

  • Experience working in a busy office environment.
  • To be computer/keyboard literate and a competent keyboard user

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Police organisation and structure.
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Justice system
