A fantastic role has recently become available in a highly regarded specialist school in Bristol - BS13

This highly regarded school in Bristol look after children who have been diagnosed with Autism and co-existing learning barriers.

The school need a youth mental health support worker to come in and support their students in their day to day activities, as well as ensuring that the classroom is an engaging environment where learning can take place!

The students that attend this school are between the ages of 4 and 19. Each child has a personalised educational and health care plan and individual intervention plans designed to help them thrive. As a youth mental health worker, you will be part of ensuring that they are able to complete their academic work while also helping them navigate through their emotions. You will also play a part in helping them learn functional life skills, helping them be as independent as possible.

What you can expect as a Youth Mental Health Worker:

  • Deliver specific interventions that have been designed with the student, their needs and goals in mind
  • De-escalate any meltdowns and behaviour that may occur
  • Help the children work through their big emotions
  • Create a safe and engaging learning environment
