The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons in resistant materials, inspiring students to develop their practical skills and creativity. You will be part of a collaborative department that values innovation and excellence in teaching.Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in Design and Technology with a focus on resistant materials.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work that meet curriculum requirements and cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the department.
  • Ensure the safe use and maintenance of equipment and materials in the workshop.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events to enhance the overall educational experience for students.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology, with a focus on resistant materials.
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Willingness to undergo a new DBS check.

Desirable:

  • Experience in using CAD/CAM software.
  • Previous involvement in extracurricular activities related to Design and Technology.
