SEN Teacher

This school is passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join their team in East Grinstead and be apart delivering education to those aged 7-19. The successful candidate will be expected to provide oustanding teaching and learning within the classroom to secure high attainment of students. To collaborate effectively with colleagues to design and deliver an engaging curriculum.

Responsibilities of an SEN Teacher:

  • Provide a safe, nurturing classroom and school environment that helps students to develop as learners.
  • Consistently plan, resource and deliver lessons that allow stimulating and enjoyable learning.
  • Supervison of teaching assistants within the classroom.
  • Ensure that all students are given quality feedback in order to make rapid and sustained progress.
  • Help to maintain/establish excellent standards of behaviour for learning across the School.
  • In discussion with the Deputy Head of Teaching and Learning, plan and prepare engaging lessons based on agreed schemes of work.
  • Use regular assessments to monitor progress and set targets and determine appropriate intervention.
  • Maintain regular and productive communication with parents, to report on progress, sanctions and rewards and to relay other relevant information.

Requirements of an SEN Teacher:

  • Must have a QTS.
  • Experience in teaching to young people aged between 7 - 19.
  • Experience in working with children with special educational needs.
  • Awareness of NC requirements at all key stage levels.
