We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate senior support worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals within a children's home setting.

This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for young people between the ages of 10-16, ensuring their needs are met while promoting independence.

Please note that the company is not able to offer sponsorship and therefore candidates must have the legal right to live and work in the UK to be considered for this role.

Main Duties:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
  • Supervise daily activities and provide guidance to residents, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Foster a supportive environment by communicating effectively with residents, families, and other staff members.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in care delivery and encouraging teamwork among colleagues.
  • Provide direction and assistance to junior staff members, taking accountability for the smooth operations of the home when shift leading.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' behaviours to the management team and work with managers to implement effective plans to manage behaviour positively.
  • Engage residents in social activities and promote community involvement to enhance their quality of life and exposure to new opportunities.
  • Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes as needed.
  • Drive residents to appointments or community outings when necessary.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • Previous experience as a senior shift leader or a similar role is essential.
  • Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with residents, their families and staff on shift.
  • Leadership qualities that inspire confidence and teamwork among staff members.
  • A valid full UK driving licence is essential for transporting residents as required.
  • A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support others in need.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.

Desirable:

  • Residential care: 1 year (preferred)
  • Supervisory: 1 year (preferred)
  • NVQ Level 3 residential childcare certificate (preferred)

Shift timings:

  • Early: 7:30am- 3pm
  • Late: 3pm-11pm
  • Long day: 7:30am-11pm

1 sleep in shift per week will be required, this is paid in addition to your salary at a flat rate of £50 per sleep in.
