We are seeking a dedicated SEN Administrator to join our team in Eastbourne. This role involves providing essential administrative support to our Special Educational Needs department, ensuring efficient operation and communication within the school environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the SENDCo and report directly to the Head of School.
Day-to-day of the role:- Take minutes during daily briefings and distribute them to staff by 10am each day.
- Create and manage new student files, ensuring all documents are uploaded and current.
- Maintain and update the student referrals spreadsheet and student provision maps.
- Arrange and manage appointments for Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) and external mentoring.
- Upload and distribute SALT reports using Arbor, our school reporting tool.
- Provide administrative support for Safeguarding meetings and update the Child Support Worker (CSW) list.
- Communicate with students and parents about the progress of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP).
- Conduct classroom observations and collate student work to support the EHCP process.
- Assist in organizing student groups for the peer mentoring scheme.
- Serve as a point of contact for external agencies, including Community Paediatricians and Educational Psychologists.
- Ensure all student passports are up-to-date and provide general administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), including daily updates to the school diary.
- Proven experience in an administrative role within a school setting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including effective telephone and face-to-face communication.
- Strong ICT skills with confidence in using technology to enhance efficiency.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding procedures.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proactive team player with a clear understanding of the business needs of schools.
