Tax Manager (AAT or CTA qualified) - Practice experience needed

Salary: £50k - £60k DOE + great company benefits

Location: Eastbourne

Hours: 08.45 - 17.30pm (can accommodate flexibility with hours and some hybrid working)

You will ideally have a proven background in working in mixed UK taxation (private clients and corporate clients), and tax advisory experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the preparation of Self-Assessment Tax Returns for a portfolio of different clients.
  • Supporting the Tax Partner with technical research and preparing tax advice directly to clients in all areas of taxation.
  • Assisting the Tax partner with the preparation of US Federal Tax Returns. (Full training and support will be provided.)
  • Developing tax planning ideas and provide proactive advice, including technical updates for clients, partners and staff.
  • Undertake technical research, and work to strict deadlines.
  • Assisting the Tax Partner in dealing with internal technical tax queries for managers and partners, dealing with all areas of taxation.
  • Attend in-house training and a willingness to attain further qualifications if required.

The right candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven background within practice, ideally UK taxation (private client and corporate clients), however candidates that are private client bias who are willing to develop corporate tax experience will be considered.
  • CTA qualified are preferred, however individuals with other tax or accounting qualifications as well as those qualified by experience will be considered.
  • Great communication skills with the ability to carry out detailed technical research.
  • US Tax is desirable but not essential and full training will be provided.
  • Ability to prioritise your workload effectively and meet strict deadlines.
  • Tax advisory experience is desirable; however, they will consider someone with accounting experience that has a keen interest in specialising in tax work will be considered.
