Medical Staffing Partner

An NHS Organisation in the South East of England are looking to recruit a permanent Medical Staffing Partner. The post-holder will be a key member of the People Directorate Management Team, and will be responsible for the strategic planning and operational delivery of a comprehensive Medical HR service. They will ensure that doctors, managers and medical leaders have access to high quality medical HR services and that customer experience, innovation and improvement is a core component of their work.

The post-holder will act as the Trust lead for medical workforce matters, using highly developed specialist knowledge and experience of complex medical staffing terms and conditions, employment law and national policy.

Salary: Band 8a - £53,755 - £60,504Location: South-East of England, 1-2 days per week on siteDuration: Full time, permanent

Key Duties:      

  • Work with the Medical Staffing team on the management of  trainee doctor contracts, providing advice on the design of rotas and work schedules to ensure they are compliant with the  terms and conditions and EWTD requirements
  • Work with the Medical Staffing and Job Planning team to ensure that Consultants are remunerated correctly in relation to their agreed job planned work and on-call supplements, through Trust systems and processes
  • Advise and support the Deputy Director HR Operations and Resourcing in managing performance and capability issues with doctors in line with national and Trust procedures
  • In conjunction with the Medical Director, escalate any issues that may need reporting outside of the Trust to the GMC and or the Practitioner Performance Advisory (PPA) Service
  • Work closely with the Director of Medical Education, Clinical Tutors and Medical Education Managers and their teams in relation to the provision of education and training of doctors
  • Empower managers and medical leaders to make confident and appropriate decisions in relation to managing medical staff within their teams
  • Line management of 1 staff member                               

The successful candidate must have:

  • Medical HR experience within the NHS
