Maintenance/Handyperson Position
Full time, 5 days over a 7-day period, and on call every other weekend.
From £12.50 per hour, depending on experience.
We are looking for a friendly, reliable maintenance/handyperson with good building maintenance skills and good people skills. As a maintenance/Handyperson working across our two Nursing Homes every day will be different, so you can expect to undertake work thats as varied as it is rewarding.
Job Overview
To provide maintenance services in accordance with current best practices, according to policy and procedures, legislative requirements and relevant regulations under the direction of the Manager.
To action both planned and reactive maintenance issues and prioritise in terms of urgency,
Responsibilities and Duties:
The Maintenance/Handypersons responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Implement actions to meet and maintain maintenance standards
Systematically solve day-to-day problematical issues which arise
Ensure the service users rights are protected
Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those individuals supported by the service
Specific requirements for Qualifications:
Desirable - Vocational qualification/HNC/City and Guilds in Maintenance or Building Services
Specific requirements for Skills:
Ensure accurate, legible maintenance audits are completed and maintained
Good English Written and verbal
Plumbing, joinery, plastering skills
Painting and decorating skills
Health and safety knowledge pertaining to building maintenance
Attend Heads of Department meetings to represent Maintenance
Essential requirements:
Full UK Driving Licence
Previous experience of working in a similar environment
Previous experience of working in a maintenance role/building trade
Working with others:
Develop effective working relationships with other employees within the service.
Be polite and respectful in any communication with staff, service users or external visitors
