Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Carpentry Working Foreman to join our team in Eastbourne. This is a hands-on role, requiring strong leadership skills to manage a team of 6-8 carpenters while also actively working on-site. You will be responsible for overseeing both 1st and 2nd fix carpentry across residential and commercial projects, ensuring high standards of workmanship, site safety, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of carpenters, ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
- Work on the tools, assisting with 1st and 2nd fix carpentry as required.
- Coordinate daily tasks and ensure efficient workflow on-site.
- Liaise with site managers, contractors, and clients to maintain smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct quality checks and problem-solve any on-site issues.
- Manage materials, tools, and equipment to keep projects on track.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Working Foreman or Lead Carpenter.
- CSCS card (mandatory).
- Strong 1st and 2nd fix carpentry skills (residential and commercial).
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Full UK driving license (preferred but not essential).
