The Role:The school is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5. The successful candidate will inspire students to explore historical events, develop analytical skills, and understand the impact of history on the modern world.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and deliver engaging History lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Teach a range of historical topics, encouraging debate, critical thinking, and independent research
- Support and challenge students to reach their full potential, adapting teaching strategies as needed
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and targeted support
- Contribute to the development of the History curriculum and department initiatives
- Participate in extracurricular activities, such as history clubs, trips, or competitions
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching History in a secondary school setting
- Experience teaching across KS3, KS4, and KS5
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for History
- An up-to-date DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- A commitment to inspiring students and fostering a love for History
- Experience with GCSE and A-Level History delivery
- Knowledge of different teaching strategies to engage a diverse range of learners
- Familiarity with exam board specifications and assessment criteria
- Ability to contribute to whole-school literacy and humanities initiatives
