Highways Safety Inspector (Temp to Perm)
Location: Ringway Gloucestershire Highways
Pay Rate: £13.47 ph
Contract Length: 3 months Temp, transitioning to Permanent based on suitability of all parties.
Working Hours: 40hrs per week (Start time - 7:30)
Ringway Gloucestershire Highways is seeking a motivated and experienced Highways Safety Inspector. During this time, the individual will undergo structured training and obtain relevant qualifications at no cost to the employee. Upon completion, there will be an increase in salary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety inspections and assessments of highways and associated infrastructure.
- Monitor and assess safety standards, ensuring compliance with regulations and health and safety procedures.
- Report defects and hazards, ensuring prompt actions are taken to resolve issues.
- Liaise with contractors, clients, and other stakeholders regarding safety issues.
- Support the Highways Safety Supervisor in the management of day-to-day operations and safety improvements.
- Assist in audits, assessments, and safety inspections of highways projects.
- Ensure all works are completed in line with safety guidelines and legal standards.
- Monitor safety performance and provide recommendations for improvements.
Requirements:
- A valid driving licence (essential for mobility around sites and inspections).
- Demonstrable experience of working in a highways environment, ideally within a safety-related role.
- Basic knowledge of highways maintenance and safety protocols.
- Previous experience as a Highways Safety Inspector or Safety Supervisor in a highways environment.
- Experience with risk assessments and safety audits.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Training and Qualifications:
- Full training and relevant qualifications will be organised and paid for by Ringway Gloucestershire Highways.
